Ingredients · per serving
- 2 tbsp Mayonnaise
- 1 tsp Lemon juice
- 20 g Celery
- to taste Black pepper
- 2 slices Bread
- small handful Fresh dill
- 15 g Red onion
- to taste Salt
- 2 slices Cheddar cheese
- 80 g Tinned tuna
Instructions
- Drain the tinned tuna well, pressing with the back of a spoon to squeeze out water/oil.
- In a bowl, flake the tuna with a fork. Add the mayonnaise, finely chopped celery, finely chopped red onion, lemon juice, dill (if using), a pinch of salt, and a few grinds of pepper. Mix well.
- Heat your oven grill (broiler) to high. Or heat a dry frying pan over medium heat for a stovetop version.
- Toast one side of the bread slices: under the grill 1-2 min, OR in the dry pan 2 min, until golden.
- Flip the bread. Spread the tuna mixture evenly on the un-toasted side.
- Top with the cheddar cheese slices.
- Return under the grill or back to the pan (cover with a lid for the pan method). Cook 2-3 min until the cheese is bubbling and golden.
- Slice in half on the diagonal. Serve with a few pickles or crisps on the side.
